Letting Myself Fly

May 8, 2018

A few weeks ago, we had 'open studios." This is where many galleries will open up and bring in artists from their home studio to be more publicly accessible, additionally many artists will also open their own studios to interested viewers. So quite a rare and wonderful opportunity.

Well, this year was a great success with hundreds enjoying. For me personally, I had given myself a leave of absence with my commissioned work to let myself fly (if you like). To paint what I wanted and how l wanted. I had so much fun, with the first two works, the third, well what can I say... I'm still dealing with that one, and I refuse to throw it into the public arena, just yet.

Overall it was liberating and invigorating. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to do similar. At this time the works can be viewed at Barber Art Gallery in Marton and at the community center in Wanganui.
